St. Dominic¡¦s Catholic High School was established in 1958 as the
result of an initiative taken in 1955 by Fr. Li An-si, then
provincial prior of the Province of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, of
the Order of Friars-Preachers, better known as the Dominicans. One
of the first tasks of the school board which had been set up to
manage the school was the selection of a school principal. The first
principal for St. Dominic¡¦s High School, chosen in 1957, was Fr.
Cheng Tien-Siang, OP appointed in 1957. After his appointment as
bishop in 1961, Fr. Joseph Feng, OP was chosen to succeed Fr. Cheng.
Fr. Feng was highly involved in a long series of school projects,
both large and small. In 1978 the ownership and administration of
St. Dominic¡¦s High School were transferred to the newly created
Chinese Dominican General Vicariate. The current superior of the
Chinese Dominican General Vicariate is Fr. Vincent Li, OP, and the
current principal of St. Dominic¡¦s High School is Ms. Chang Yen-hua.
